HERMAN MILLER CHAIR PROS:
> There are many numerous favorable customer reviews of the Herman Miller Aeron Chair. The efficacy of this chair is very well substantiated.
HERMAN MILLER CHAIR CONS:
> Expensive compared to other chairs that offer the exact same ergonomic advantages at a mere fraction of the cost
> Potentially over-paying for a ‘name’ here
I recently upgraded my computer chair to a fully ergonomic model. I used to slouch terribly in my old chair so I considered the $500+ (yeah I know, not as much as some, but still not too shabby) that I spent on my new chair an investment in my health & posture. When I brought my chair home, I had all the best intentions in mind, I would adjust everything perfectly & begin to sit at my computer properly, according to all the rules. I lasted about 3 hours after that I was back to my old slouching ways.

Ergonomic office chairs, like Herman Miller Aeron, are very effective for enhancing comfort while sitting for long hours. The ergonomic design contours to the spine to relieve pressure points. But what about when you’re not sitting in a chair? If the purpose of these chairs is to realign your posture while sitting, wouldn’t it make more sense to buy a product that realigns your posture 24 hours a day – even when you’re not sitting? Well that’s exactly what the BODY-ALINE back & posture exercise machine does. It corrects your posture with one simple motion in less than 2 minutes a day. So use an ergonomically designed chair when you’re sitting and rely on the BODY-ALINE to provide good posture while you’re standing and you’ll have great posture all the time. Quiet simply, there is no better way. Many have asked the question of whether ergonomic chairs work to prevent back pain. This analysis summarizes why, in our opinion, the BODY-ALINE is a better solution for most chronic back pain compared to even the best ergonomic office chairs, as the Herman Miller Aeron Chair is.
A Personal Review of the Herman Miller Aeron Ergonomic Office Chair from BODY-ALINE Co-Inventor Jason Bowman…
I own an ergonomic chair because I work long hours at a desk and it helps me to be more comfortable & productive throughout the day. So, obviously, I believe in them. They are definitely an important part of the good posture equation. I highly recommend the dual approach of ergonomic seating combined with using the BODY-ALINE. It’s a superb combination and will get good results. My advice when buying any ergonomic chair is to choose the one that makes you feel the most comfortable and one that reinforces YOUR best posture. This is the ‘type’ of ergo chair that will work best. Don’t let a brand name or price be your guide, let comfort guide you. In fact, I bought my ergonomic chair for a fraction of what the Hermon Miller Aeron Chair costs and I’ve had it for years, so durability is not a question. I’m sitting in it right now as a matter of fact…
